Deviled Jack Fruit Skin

Chef Jagath Katugampola is introducing a brand new vegan recipe for a perfect “Devilled Bite”.



Usually “Devilled Bites are made of meat specially Chicken, Fish, Pork and Beef and much popular with liquor as an excellent combination in Sri Lanka.



Combination of Sweetness, saltiness and spicy taste of “Devilled” dishes are very popular in Sri Lanka. This special dish they generally served with fried rice and fried noodles. 



It’s always been a mouthwatering dish at any party or a gathering of Sri Lanka that everyone jumps to grab.    



Ingredients:

180g raw Jackfruit inner skin cubes

2 Cups of Coconut Oil or Vegetable oil

2 Capsicum Sliced

1 Onion Sliced

2 Pandan Leaves

2 Curry Leaves

1 Table Spoon of Garlic

¼ Cup of Oyster Sauce

¼ Cup of Soya Sauce

½ Cup of Tomato Sauce

½ Water Cup

1 Table Spoon of Salt

2 Tomatoes Sliced

 


Step 01

Remove outer green skin of the Jackfruit and then separate the inner skin of the Jackfruit. Cut the inner skin and prepare and portion it as cubes.



Step 02

Then add 1, ½  cups of oil in to a deep sauce pan and lit gas fire at full temperature and wait until the oil boiled up to 180 degrees. Then add the Jackfruit Skin Cubes and deep fry until it turns light golden color then quickly take all the cubes out and dry it well using a paper tissue. Then remove the oil from the sauce pan.

 


Step 03

Lit the gas fire at mild temperature and let the sauce pan turn milled hot and add 2 table spoons of oil. Then stir well for 10 seconds and capsicum slices, onion slices, pandan leaves, curry leaves, and garlic then stir and mix well. Then add Nature Spices Chillie Pieces, Nature Spices Pepper Powder, oyster sauce, soy sauce and tomato sauce then mix and stir well and then again add ½ cup of water then mix and stir well again.

 


Step 04

Add salt, tomato slices and fried Jackfruit Cubes and again mix well until the Jackfruit Skin Cubes turn Golden Grown and stop fire keeping the wet juiciness of the dish and serve.
